Mitigate your circumstances
Many of us are not moving into our purposes, into our destinies because of one excuse or the other.
The excuses could be like:
1. I am physically challenged.
2. I am from a poor background.
3. I am very young.
4 I belong to the wrong tribe and so on.
But last night I realised that Zacchaeus was a very short man. But more significantly, he was a tax collector and very wealthy. On this particular day, he needed to see Jesus. Due to his height -he was very short- there was no way he would see Him in the midst of taller people. What did he do to mitigate his height issue? He climbed up a tree. At such a created advantaged position, Jesus had no way of missing him! This action opened salvation for his household. What does the Bible tell us?
“Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.” Luke 19:1?-?4 NIV
What lesson do we learn today? Get out of your limitations. If it means you climb the tree to overcome the limitations, please run ahead and do so. The desire for victory and fulfilling your destiny must push you to the level of getting a solution no matter how awkward it is. Some people may laugh at you. Can you imagine what it meant for a wealthy person like Zacchaeus to climb up a tree? To others, it could have been embarrassing. To him, seeing Jesus was more important than the shame.
Let’s go out and do what we must do to ignite our destiny. Blessed day as you meditate on the tree you need to climb to receive your salvation, your blessings.
