My Samuel
Life is journey full of pleasantries and some disappointments.
There are people who will mock you for situations and circumstances you have found yourself in. Some so painful, yet neither you nor them can change them.
1) You could be a barren woman…
2) You may have lost your spouse…
3) You could be in a terrible health situation…
4) You may be jobless today…
5) You could still be single…
Honestly, a lot more could be working against you. This woman Hannah found herself in such a situations (1 Samuel 1:1-28).
(1 Samuel 1:1-2 NIV) There was a certain man from Ramathaim, a Zuphite from the hill country of Ephraim, whose name was Elkanah son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. He had two wives; one was called Hannah and the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had none. For this reason, Peninah ensured that she made life very difficult for Hannah. This included mockery and insults. It was so bad. But…
Hannah purposed to seek God’s intervention. She prayed so much to the extent that even the priest thought she was drunk. Can you just imagine! (1 Samuel 1:12-18) There are times you will go through situations that no one will ever understand. At times even those who are supposed to understand you as you pray may call you a drunkard!
If you could be facing such a situation remember to-:
1) Remain focused…
2) Purpose to get a solution and don’t rest untill you get it…
3) Ever remember that it’s in God that solutions are found…
Man may attempt to go with you, but only to a certain extent. God alone will walk with you all the way to the end. He did it for Hannah and gave her a son, who became one the the greatest prophets.
My biggest take is this: I will ignore all the Peninahs in my journey and focus on the end game. The end game could be:
1. Building your family…
2. Your career…
3. Your business…
That’s it!
The Peninahs you must ignore. And that’s the way it should be. Bye! Bye Peninahs! My Samuel is just a few days, weeks months or even years away. Either way things will change. Be encouraged! Hold on a little longer. Your Samuel will bring joy to your life.
