When I spend my time or money, do I spend it to gain or to lose? This is an interesting conversation I often find myself having especially when I am interacting with young people. Reason being, everything has an opportunity cost.

You can choose to use your 1000/- to buy a book or you can use it to go in the bar and drink yourself silly. If you buy a book, you will increase your knowledge. Knowledge is power and makes you a better person. It may help you earn more money in the long run because you are improving yourself.

Tell me, what does one gain by becoming drunk and disorderly then having a hangover the whole of the next day? And while you sleep, the other person who bought a book, may have got a new business idea and is up chasing a dream. Then you the drunk, when you finally wake up, you are busy complaining of having no money. You consumed what you had!

Had you invested it, it would have increased over time. Time is a very limited resource. Learn to use it well, especially in the days of your youth. I thank God everyday that He allows me to make wise decisions around how I use my time and my money.

Purpose everyday to weigh all decisions around these two resources because the choices you make determine significantly how far you go in your wealth creation journey. Make wise choices today and tomorrow and you will see the difference.
